Taking titles in Tignes
Great to get an update from our sponsored skier Iain Innes who has had a terrific finish to his season. Well done from all of us!
I finished off my season with an incredible 10 days in Tignes, France for the British Alpine Championships. The first four days were the speed events, I was happy to come away with 4 massive PB points scores, as well as being Junior Champion in Super G and Downhill, National Champion in Super G, and 3rd in the National Champs Downhill.
Going into the technical events I was a little more fatigued than some (very few athletes compete in all 4 disciplines) but I definitely gave it my all. I was happy to take 3rd in the National Champs giant slalom (missing out on Gold by 0.27seconds) and to win the Junior Champs. The slaloms were very hard for me with it being my weakest discipline as well, but I’m happy with my performances.

Since getting home a couple of weeks ago, I’ve had some time off,
I’ve also recently started working with the Scottish Institute of Sport who will now manage all my fitness stuff. This is a massive step forward and will help me to compete with the athletes from the alpine nations who have had support like this for years. I’ve had numerous days of testing already, strength and conditioning, medical and physio profiles completed to make the best possible program for me this summer.
While I’m busy in the gym and training outdoors, I hope the MacKay Clinic is going well. Thanks again for your continued support.
