Imagine Scotland beating England 7-0 in a football match! Well you haven’t entered some strange parallel universe, that’s exactly what happened when the Scotland over 50s team played their English rivals at St George’s Park in Staffordshire recently. Professor Mackay was thrilled to be part of the winning team and if you meet him, he will no doubt tell you all about it!
Man of the match must surely go to Scotland centre forward Gordon Smith though who scored a memorable hat trick of goals, in what will be his last match before his hip replacement.
