Results show excellent results for athlete recovery following ACL InternalBrace surgery
Dr William Wilson used the latest technology to help us further understand the recovery of athletes following different ACL surgeries. In this link William presents his excellent results which show that InternalBrace repair of the ACL can improve sensory feedback and strength compared to traditional reconstruction.
This hopefully takes us a step closer to reducing the risks of osteoarthritis for the younger athlete with ACL injury.
The results were presented to BOSTAA (British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Assoc).
Dr Wilson ran the study at Strathclyde University Biomechanics Lab where he assessed clinical and biomechanical outcomes of sports patients recovering from serious knee injuries involving the cruciate ligament.
The video below gives an insight into the rigorous testing involved in gathering these results
