What surgery entails

You will be booked in for surgery at your earliest convenience. You will generally arrive in the morning of your operation, and must not  eat for 12 hours prior to your arrival. Some surgeries allow the patient to leave later that day but others may require an overnight stay in which case please ensure your insurers are notified.

After care follow up

All patients will see Professor Mackay for at least one follow-up appointment after surgery. (Some patients may need more). We will advise on your  physiotherapy options where appropriate, monitor your progress, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your recovery is as speedy and painless as possible.
