Netball stars’ success

After their hefty win over St Lucia, it was great to catch up with Scotland netball stars Gemma Sole (right) and Claire Brownie (left), two young athletes who returned to elite sport after I performed a reconstruction using an Internal Brace. Gemma, the daughter of rugby legend David Sole and the team’s shooter, was particularly noteworthy in a medical sense because she was the first athlete to return to elite sport after having her knee reconstructed using an Internal Brace.

As for Claire, she damaged her ankle so badly that there was a question mark over her involvement in Glasgow – she was pictured in tears in a documentary on the Scotland netball team before the Games – so it has been particularly heartwarming to see her playing such a key role as playmaker for Scotland.
