Orthopedic surgeon, J. Chris Coetzee, M.D., earned his medical degree from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1984 and completed his residency at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa. His advanced medical training includes completion of two fellowships: an AO Trauma Fellowship in Davos, Switzerland, and a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Coetzee specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma and sports medicine. Additional responsibilities include appointments as Associate Editor of the Foot and Ankle International Journal, reviewer to the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and Team Physician for the Minnesota Vikings.
Dr. Coetzee has been voted a Top Doctor by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine in 2013 and every year since (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) and was named a Top 16 Foot & Ankle Physicians in the U.S. He served as the President of the American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society from 2018-2019, and is a renowned national and international speaker on foot and ankle issues who has been asked to lecture and teach in more than 20 countries on all continents. He is a faculty member for the TCO Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program.
