Inspiring moment of my Games so far…

One of the most inspiring moments of my Games was what happened after I had treated South African sevens skipper Kyle Brown following his traumatic shoulder dislocation at Ibrox. I’d managed to get him off the pitch and patched him up as best I could in the dressing room, but he needed to go to hospital. He wasn’t having any of it, however, and after persuading us to take him out to watch the medal ceremony in a wheelchair, he defied the pain threshold and our advice to get up and walk across to pick up his gold medal after his team’s amazing win over New Zealand.

I have some idea of how sore that must have been and only have one thought – what a man!
