Iain Innes

Team GB Skier

About Iain

Five years ago, the Mackay Clinic announced that Edinburgh skier Iain Innes was to be the clinic’s first sponsored athlete. Iain has a remarkable record of success, having been overall British champion at U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21 level. In 2016 Iain represented Team GB at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, finishing 17th in Giant Slalom and 20th in Slalom. In February 2018 the 19-year-old competed at the Junior World Championship in Davos for the first time, and despite a comparative lack of resources he finished 51st in the downhill (out of 62), 36th (out of 92) in the Super G, 28th (out of 99) in the Alpine Combined, and 31st (out of 129) in the Giant Slalom. His aim is to represent Team GB at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing
