Decathlete back competing after ACL Internal Brace surgery

Dear Prof. Mackay,
I Cc’d you in my email to Mark Pollard at Scottish athletics but wanted to write to you personally myself. It must be hard for you to remember with all the patients you have seen but I came to you as a junior decathlete having ruptured my ACL in my left knee coming off the last hurdle in a race, the week before I attempted qualification for World Junior Championships.
Only 12 months since the operation I competed in my first decathlon back at Men’s U23 British Decathlon Championships where I placed third. The performance itself wasn’t anything special, despite this I hit 3 personal bests, one of them being in hurdles (the event I originally injured my knee in). The fact that the knee could withstand such force and pressure throughout the two days is a triumph in itself and hope I can be a testament to how successful the internal brace procedure is and has been. I have attached some footage from the championship along with images of the knee in action!
Thank you again,
Tom Chandler
